This is going to be big. I mean really a really Frickin’ Fantastically big all star cast!

HÄANA will be playing live!
AND Nick Jones and Diana Cruz from Denver will be teaching! Class topic TBA
To top it all off, Adam Lewis will be DJing!

I am so exciteed to tell you about our world class teachers and live performance that I don’t know which to do first!

Echoing the sounds of the Nordic coast and urban dance halls, cinematic sonic bass producer/violinist/vocalist HÄANA blends traditional melodies and improvised instrumental/vocal music with cutting edge electronic sounds, counting Massive Attack, Björk, Phaeleh, Trentemøller, and Ólafur Arnalds as influences in crafting her production. The resulting sonic palate takes listeners on “a kind of Massive Attack-esque mystical journey” (PopMatters), whose destination is a crossroads between classical and contemporary, organic and man-made, familiar and mysterious. HÄANA has shared the stage with numerous musical giants (The Rolling Stones, Kanye West, Bassnectar, MOBY, The National, EOTO) and appears on releases by Irma Thomas, Beats Antique, Random Rab, An-Ten-Nae, Desert Dwellers, among others. “Luminous frequencies and violin instrumentation tied with foreign Icelandic lyrical messages are found in her voice…” (AfroMonk) “It has the ability to seep into your soul in ways only orchestral and electronic music can.” (Infectious Magazine)

It is impossible to ignore the inherent magnetism of Nick & Diana’s dancing and teaching. From the moment they step onto the floor until they leave, you are caught in a story that is a discovery every moment, and that you do not want to end.

While Tango is their primary dance now, Nick and Diana have a wide background in many dance styles. Nick has been dancing & studying since 1996 and began dancing as Lindy Hopper. Diana Cruz incorporates her multi-disciplinary techniques (including: Ballet, Contemporary dance, Modern dance, Latin American folk dances, Pilates, Yoga, Singing and many Tango styles) into one cohesive dance.

As enthusiastic teachers, choreographers, performers, dj’s, festival organizers and musicians Nick & Diana are invited to tango festivals and workshops around the world. They have performed the show “Tango Times” with Gustavo Naveira & Giselle Anne at the St. Louis Tango Festival “Hot Winter Tango”, as well as the “Natural Tango Festival”. They have been teachers and performers at tango festivals and workshops in the United States and Canada, and have been on tours teaching and performing in Europe and Australia.
